Claudia M. Rustad


Claudia Rustad is a legal advisor, trial lawyer and principal of Roeser Tanner & Graham. She has more than 20 years of combined outside and in-house counsel commercial litigation experience representing businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals in state and federal proceedings, arbitrations and mediations throughout the country. Most recently, Claudia spent nearly seven years managing all corporate litigation for an S&P 500 company, including managing compliance, regulatory and employment matters.

Claudia provides outside general counsel services. She ensures that her clients have practical, strategic and cost-effective advice based on the business and its unique needs and risks when handling legal issues. She advises clients on commercial contracts, officer or director fiduciary duty obligations, litigation management, corporate governance, compliance and risk management. Additionally, Claudia regularly provides counsel on employment matters such as hiring, employee handbooks, performance counseling, termination, reduction in force and required trainings. She also advises and updates executives and boards.

On the litigation side, Claudia has successfully defended and prosecuted cases involving breaches of contract, real estate disputes, employment disputes, non-compete and other restrictive covenant provisions, fiduciary duty, professional duty, collection, fraud and post-merger disputes.

Prior to her public company in-house role, Claudia was a trial lawyer in the commercial litigation department of Grippo & Elden LLC, a nationally renowned litigation boutique, where she successfully represented Fortune 500 companies, family-owned businesses, entrepreneurs and individuals.

Claudia currently serves as a member of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois.
